West Hartford Patch Has Not Jumped the Shark, 5% Day at Whole Foods, "Red Light Winter"

Here are five things going on in the area today.

Good morning, West Hartford! Today is Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013; there are 103 days left in the year.

Someone yesterday on the West Hartford Patch Facebook page said that the site has “jumped the shark.”

First, allow me to say that the 6-year-old boy in me - all 35 pounds of bucked teeth and hair cut in a bowl shape of me - says thank you, as anything comparing that kid to his idol - The Fonz - is just the coolest thing ever. As a side note, I was terrified that The Fonz wouldn’t make it over that dang shark. So thank you for bringing up a PTSD-like reaction out of me.

The adult me, however, disagrees with the shark-jumping reference. Even though I think Sharknado is the greatest movie of all time, I am deathly afraid of sharks, and will never intentionally meet up with one, jumping it while water skiing or otherwise.

Oh, and, really, I feel like West Hartford Patch is doing just fine.
