28 Days of Gratitude: Day 11... thank you to our Veterans

Nov. 11th -  Thank you to our Veterans.

Today is Veterans Day… a day when we say THANK YOU to all of the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We are grateful to so many who have put their lives before ours so we may have freedom, and to those who continue to serve.

My father served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1968-1974. He was in the Military Intelligence Corps, and stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He still keeps his fatigues in his army footlocker. (He's the little guy in the second row.)

This morning, my daughters dressed in red, white and blue, and participated in their school’s Annual Veteran’s Day Assembly – thanking the many men and women who sacrificed their lives for us.  They also called their Papa tonight and thanked him for his service.

Their thoughts on this special day…

Gabriella: I am grateful for all of the Veterans who served for our country. They have been very brave when they fought. Most of them come home safely, but not everyone. I pray for them. Thank you, Veterans.

Francesca: I am grateful for my Grandpa who served in the Army. He was very brave. Then he retired and he now has kids, then my mom had me and my sister, Gabriella. Thank you Grandpa and all the Veterans.

Thank you to all those Veterans who served and who are currently serving in the military. You have put your life before ours, to protect our freedoms and we are so very, very grateful. Thank you…
