25 Days of Giving: Day 16

25 Days of Giving: Day 16

Today the girls spent the afternoon making cards for the families who lost a child, a mother, a sister, a brother, a father, or a friend in the Newtown tragedy. We are still in Virginia visiting my sister, brother-in-law, and three-year-old niece, so it was a family project. It was a sad activity, but one which we did together, and I felt so strongly about. We were doing something as a family. Giving something to families. If only we could do more, than make a card and send them our love. But it was something.

Green and red construction paper, holiday stickers of all sizes and shapes, and washable markers covered the kitchen table. My niece’s scribbles, the girls’ hand drawn angels, and thoughts of peace and love were folded and placed into envelopes ready to be mailed tomorrow.
