25 Days of Giving: Day 25

Today is the last day of our 25 Days of Giving... what a wonderful month of giving back!

Today is Christmas. In addition to being one of the most celebrated holidays around the world and one of our family’s favorite holidays… today marks day 25 of our family’s “25 Days of Giving.”

We have had a wonderful and amazing month of giving back to others. Looking back, I can honestly say that although we may have given back to others, our family has also received in abundance. We have received big hugs, huge smiles and words of kindness and appreciation. We have met some wonderful people along the way, and are so grateful that we have been able to help so many organizations, individuals and even animals. We may not have made a big difference, but we know we touched at least one person’s life every day.

In fact, we have all been so inspired by giving back, that our daughter’s haveasked if we can do this all the time. I have to laugh, because as I explainedto the girls, that YES you can give back every single day of your life, simply by incorporating kindness into who you, by being kind to a stranger, nice to eachother, and by helping others along the way, something I tell them all the time. But I think they were looking for something more concrete, a “giving” activity. So once a month each of them will think of something to do to help someone, orgive back to one of the organizations we helped this month. I love that they are so inspired and want to help others. (I guess giving your love to yoursister when you are fighting all day doesn’t really count…)

We are hosting Christmas Day, and I can’t waitto open the door and hug my parents, kiss my beautiful niece and nephew, sharea glass of wine with my sister and brother-in-law, catch up with my Aunt andUncle, laugh with my in-laws and remind my husband and girls how much I lovethem.
