Hawks Combine for Final Round 309 to Take Sixth Place

HANOVER, N.H.—The University of Hartford women's golf team posted the lowest team round score in the nine-year tenure of head coach Donna Harris during the final round of the Dartmouth Invitational Sunday. The Hawks navigated the Hanover Country Club course in a combined 309 strokes to finish sixth in the tournament field.

“The whole team went out and attacked the course,” Harris said. “It was a complete team effort and a beautiful round to see.”

The Hawks jumped four spots on the tournament's final day. The team posted a score of 331 in the first round on Saturday to sit in 10th place with 18 holes to play. Sunday, the Hawks 309 pushed them past Quinnipiac, Hofstra, Wagner and Fairfield for a two-round score of 640.

The final round was highlighted by junior Aubrey Ungvarsky, who shot a career-low 75 over the tournament's final 18 holes. Ungvarsky improved by six strokes during the final round after shooting an 81 in the first round on Sunday. Ungvarsky finished tied for 15th in the field with a final score of 156.

Senior Sarah Sideranko finished one stroke ahead of Ungvarsky, taking 14th place with a 36-hole 155. Sideranko carded a 76 on Sunday to go with Saturday's 79.

Next up for the women's golf team is a trip to the Twisted Dunes Golf Course in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., for the ECAC Division I Championship.
