Aaron Wilson, a senior at , has signed a letter of intent to play Division 1 baseball at the next year.
A Windsor resident, Wilson is the son of Diana Ramos and John Wilson and the stepson of Carlos Rodriguez. He has been the starting varsity shortstop at NWC since sophomore year, and has been a Captain of the team both junior and senior years.
Wilson was named All-Conference as a junior, and was also chosen for the Junior Select All-Star team.
“I am thrilled for Aaron because he has worked so hard to be the best he can be, and he is committed to the success of the team,” said NWC Principal/Chief Administrator Margaret Williamson.
He is a versatile athlete, having also competed on the indoor track, football, and basketball teams for NWC. As a short forward for the basketball team, he averaged 7.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals as a senior; last year, as a member of the 4x200 Relay team, he was named All-Conference, All-State, and All-New England.
“Aaron has been a pleasure to coach,” said NWC Baseball Coach Cory Carlson. “He is an extremely hard-working individual who strives for constant success. It has been an honor to watch him grow into the ballplayer and young man that he has become today. We all wish Aaron well-deserved and continued success at the University of Hartford.”
Since 1961, cultivating students’ athletic gifts has been a critical component of NWC’s mission to educate the whole person -- mind, body, spirit, and soul.
