State Representative Joseph Verrengia (D-West Hartford) presented citations to students from the Charter Oak School in West Hartford. The students were recent second-place finishers in the statewide “Odyssey of the Mind” competition. The six member team now moves on to the World Finals being held at the University of Maryland at the end of the month.
“It is my pleasure to give a pat on the back to West Hartford’s best and brightest students,” said Rep. Verrengia. “Accomplishments like this and 'thinking out of the box' are within the grasp of every student.”
Odyssey of the Mind is an international education program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.
