Stacey Tisdale Motivates Over 350 Women to Create Smart Financial Goals

YWCA Hartford Region held it’s Money Conference for Women on October 27, 2012 at the Connecticut Convention Center. Over 350 women attended the financial conference. Now in its 11th year the Money Conference for Women, hosted by YWCA Hartford Region and Honorary Chair, State Treasurer, Denise L., Nappier, offers help to women of all ages and encourages them to take charge of their financial futures.

Keynote speaker, author and financial journalist, Stacey Tisdale encouraged the audience to create specific “SMART” goals for their future and manage their money in order to achieve those goals. “You were born with everything you need to achieve your goals,” Stacey said. “Do not let money get in the way.”

The Money Conference for Women is designed to address the unique financial challenges women face in their work and personal lives. On average, a woman earns $.77 for every $1 a man earns while working in the same position. The discrepancy between income levels for women of color is even larger. Economic disparities increase a woman’s likelihood to suffer financial insecurity and live in poverty during her later years.

“We are proud that this is the 11th year we have been able to offer this free conference to women in Connecticut. Helping women achieve financial security is part of YWCA’s mission,” YWCA Hartford Region CEO Deborah Ullman said.
