June, 2012 – West Hartford, CT – TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, recently awarded The American School for the Deaf (ASD) $7,500 as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.
The American School for the Deaf (ASD) serves children/adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. The school will use the funds to support ASD’s Comprehensive Literacy Initiative, a three year program designed to provide students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade with necessary support services to address their complex literacy challenges. The Initiative includes a Reading Coordinator, A Visual Phonics Program, and enhanced After-School Language Enrichment Program and a Picture Writing Program.
