The Children’s Museum and A. C. Petersen Farms Team Up for Cool Back to School Specials

A. C. Petersen Farms, a West Hartford family dining landmark since 1940, has teamed up with The Children’s Museum to offer some end of summer specials to their own and each other’s patrons. Each renewing member of The Children’s Museum (membership must expire between August 1 and October 31, 2011) will receive a voucher for $20 toward a family meal at A. C. Petersen’s and a Kids Club membership (good for a free ice cream cone with a paid Kids’ Meal through 12/31/11). A. C. Petersen Farms is located at 240 Park Road, West Hartford (just over a mile from the Museum).

Additionally, visitors to The Children’s Museum may present their A.C. Petersen Farms meal receipt for $2 off Museum admission for each paid meal. In return, visitors may bring their receipt from the Museum to A. C. Petersen’s for a free “Conny Cone” for each paid child’s admission (does not apply to group admission).

“We look at our customers and The Children’s Museum’s visitors and see there is a great opportunity for families to visit both the Museum and A. C. Petersen Farms for a fun family outing,” said Catherine Denton, owner of A. C. Petersen Farms. “So we decided to partner with the Museum to make sure our customers know about each other.”

Don Peterson, Interim Director of The Children’s Museum, saw the partnership potential immediately. “As families get into back to school mode, we thought this initiative with a little incentive to visit both The Children’s Museum and A. C. Petersen’s would be a great show of partnership between two of the town’s oldest family institutions,” he said. “That we both offer free parking is an added bonus.”

To receive the $20 food voucher, expiring memberships at The Children’s Museum must be renewed by October 31, 2011. The receipt discounts on Museum admission and Conny Cones are good through October 31, 2011.

Since 1940, A.C. Petersen Farms Restaurant has been West Hartford’s favorite family restaurant. Located at 240 Park Road it is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night treats.  Breakfast is served all day, so you can order your favorite omelet, pancakes, or French toast right up to closing time! For lunch or dinner, enjoy an extensive menu of family favorites. Try their delicious burgers, “Build Your Own Sliders,” Paninis, salads or wraps. There is also a Kids Menu.  A. C. Petersen’s ice cream treats include over 40 flavors of ice cream to make your cone, sundae, or milkshake a delectable treat.
