Anticipation builds for the 16th Annual Gala of The Children’s Museum on Saturday, May 5th at the Tumblebrook Country Club in Bloomfield. Among the evening’s many highlights are plans to unveil growth plans for the long established organization.
“Gala Night 2012 is a platform for articulating the future vision and the master planning underway,” said Robert Griesmer, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Children’s Museum. “It’s an opportunity to marvel at a long-standing cultural gem and become energized about the innovations to come.”
The 16th Annual Gala, themed “A Child’s World,” will be hosted by popular Fox CT anchors Laurie Perez and Jim Altman. The evening will feature a Science Fair Midway, silent and live auctions, and unique animal sponsorship opportunities.
Using engaging and interactive technology, the live and silent auctions will feature bidding made via wireless touchscreen iPads. Auction items include a 5-night stay with airfare to Costa Rica, named "the happiest place" on earth, and a New Orleans Jazz and Dining Experience with Renaissance Pere Marquette 3-Night Stay and airfare.
Proceeds from the evening support educational and outreach programs of The Children’s Museum and Roaring Brook Nature Center, the region’s premiere destinations for science and nature exploration.
