A Ladies Brunch and Holiday Fashion Show Set the Stage for a Stylish Year
On Nov. 20, 2011, The Junior League of Hartford celebrated their 90th anniversary and kicked-off the upcoming 2012 Decorator Show House year, with a ladies brunch and holiday fashion show, to benefit the programs and projects of the League.
Members of the League modeled some of the latest and greatest fashions for the holidays from the areas’ stylish boutiques and designers including, Ann Taylor of Blue Back Square, Artichoke, BK&Co., The Clothes Horse, La Perla Fine Jewelers, Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs, SIGHT and Silkworm of West Hartford.
“This is a monumental year for the Junior League of Hartford,” says Wendy Avery, president of the Junior League of Hartford. “Not only are we paying tribute to the achievements of the League over the past 90 years, but we are hosting our 12th Decorator Show House and five of our major programs are celebrating milestone anniversaries. This fantastic fashion show and brunch backed by wonderful vendors and stores was a terrific way to kick-off the year. We are so thankful for their enthusiasm to participate and their generous support."
The 2012 Decorator Show House will open this May and will showcase some of the areas finest designers, decorators and landscapers to transform the home and grounds. The Decorator Show House is the League’s largest fundraiser and the proceeds benefit the League’s community projects such as Freshplace, The Backpack Program, Kids in the Kitchen, Souper Sustainers, and the many projects our Done In A Day Committee accomplishes each year.
