Bike To Town Thursday Starts May 1

Come join The West Hartford Bicycle Advisory Committee and Bike West Hartford, Inc. at "Bike to Town Thursdays" on  May 1, 2014 at at 6:30 pm at Pinkberrys.  These weekly rides, which will take place, weather permitting, every Thursday from May 1 through August 30, are intended to promote bike riding as a safe and comfortable means of transportation within West Hartford.  The "Bike to Town" events are open invitations for residents and their friends to ride their bicycles to specific destinations in West Hartford, rather than driving their cars. The destinations change weekly. This is not a "group ride", but rather a "group destination". Families, riders and participants are simply riding from home or work to the weekly destination. At 6:30 p.m. the team leader will provide a very brief "thank you" and perhaps share a safety message, and the group could stay to socialize, enjoy a frozen yogurt or coffee and even discuss their route to town and ways to make West Hartford a safer, more comfortable place to ride. Interested riders can find out about each weekly ride by logging on to bikewesthartford.org or on Facebook at Make West Hartford Bicycle Friendly. Get exercise, reduce traffic congestion, reduce pollution and support local merchants !
