Citizens Bank Foundation grants $20,000 to HEDCO

The Citizens Bank Foundation recently granted $20,000 to HEDCO for technology upgrades to its Business Resource Center. The new technology will enhance service efficiency and assist minority business enterprises seeking contracts in the construction field to help them qualify for the State of Connecticut and private sector-funded surety bond funding.

Helping to start, finance, retain and recruit small businesses in Connecticut, HEDCO partners with other community and economic development agencies and organizations to boost success of minority business enterprises in the retail, manufacturing and construction industries.

The HEDCO program is a part of Citizens Helping Citizens Strengthen Communities, the Bank’s program for economic development. Citizens Helping Citizens Strengthen Communities is part of the bank’s broader Citizens Helping Citizens program addressing five key areas: hunger, housing, economic development, financial education and volunteerism.
