A group of international au pairs from Cultural Care Au Pair attended the Governor's Mansion Holiday Open House on December 8. This annual event is free, and also acted as a fundraiser for Toys for Tots, in which toys were collected by handsomely dressed U.S. Marines.
The au pairs, most of whom care for children of families in West Hartford, come from Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Columbia, Italy, Germany, France, Mexico and Poland. They had the opportunity to tour the mansion, enjoy the gingerbread replicas of historic sites like Heublein Tower and the Soldier's Arch, take pictures with Santa, listen to music provided by local groups, and even meet the Governor himself.
