Four Entrepreneurs Share Their "Secrets of Success" at Money Program for Young Adults

What does it take to start your own venture?  Or bring a new idea to market?  Or sell a skill or product you’re passionate about?  On Wednesday, February 19, “Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks” – a series of monthly networking and money-management gatherings for young adults at MCC on Main in Manchester – will help 20- and 30-somethings answer those questions with an evening devoted to entrepreneurship.

The network hour will kick off at 5 PM in the gallery with sliders from Corey’s Catsup & Mustard and beer samples from February’s featured brewery, Olde Burnside in East Hartford.  After their beer and burger, guests are invited to go upstairs for a tour of Axis901, a vibrant “co-working” space for small business owners located above MCC on Main.  Current members of Axis901 include web marketers, e-commerce firms, business strategists, app developers, authors, and software engineers.   Lisa Powell, a representative from the Small Business Administration, will also be on hand in the gallery to discuss the resources available through the SBA for anyone considering or ready to embark on the entrepreneurial path.

At 6 PM, a panel of four successful entrepreneurs will discuss the challenges and rewards of running your own business and give attendees a sense of what it takes to succeed at being your own boss.  The panelists are:  TJ Clynch, founder/owner of Downtown Yoga Studio and Civic Mind; Megan McConville, president and owner of Offshore Construction;  Paula Lajaunie Viscogliosi, Executive Director of Textures Design;  and Corey Wry, owner/co-owner of Manchester eateries Catsup & Mustard, Pastrami on Wry and CW’s Chops ‘n’ Catch.  The panel will be moderated by Stacey Zackin, an executive trainer, life coach, workshop facilitator and radio host.
