Fulcrum Wines winemaker David Rossi to make appearance at Maximum Beverage

Winemaker David Rossi of Fulcrum Wines in California will be at Maximum Beverage Thursday, Nov. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. Many of his wines are limited in production, so this is event offers a great opportunity to sample through the Fulcrum portfolio.

Varieties to be tasted include Fulcrum Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir; Fulcrum Londer Vineyard Pinot Noir; On Point Chalone Pinot Noir; On Point Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir; Cloisonne Napa Valley Chardonnay; and Cloisonne Anderson Valley Pinot Noir.

Fulcrum’s 2011 Pinot Noirs were given reviews ranging from 90 to 93 points by the Pinot Report, a James Beard Award-winning publication focused on Pinot Noirs from the Western U.S. A 93 point rating was given to the 2011 Fulcrum Gap’s Crown Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, described by the reviewer as having “Deep ruby color; complex aromas of dark cherry and forest floor; deep and rich dark cherry flavors with herbs and forest floor notes; some oak; good structure and balance; long finish; a big, balanced Pinot with many layers of flavor.”

Rossi chose the name Fulcrum for his winery when founding it in 2005 because the word fulcrum means a point on which an object balances, and he believes in leveraging the finest grapes to create balanced, complex and age-worthy Pinot Noirs.
