April 28, 2014 – West Hartford, Connecticut - The Third Year in “Revue” for Hello! West Hartford will be held on Monday, April 28th from 5:30 to 8:30 at the West Hartford Town Hall. They are expecting an even larger crowd and an amazing celebration. The celebration will feature three years of videos and have languages represented with food, posters, artifacts or just people of that culture speaking their native language. Imagine the music of many residents coming together to celebrate our cultural languages. Committed performers include student musicians from Conard, Hall, Bristow, Charter Oak, IEA and Solomon Schechter. We are expecting Jose Pablo, Korean KLCEI Samulnori Percussion and Folk Dance, award winning Chinese Baratone Chai-Lun Yueh, Trinity Samba Ensemble, Irish, Nepali and Peruvian dancers, Hwang Martial Arts, and East Culture Arts. Restaurants throughout town will be sharing their delicacies so residents can sample the many flavors of West Hartford.

A new and exciting addition to the event will be the awarding of the first Dr. Karen L. List Global Ambassador award. Two amazing students from Hall and Conard were selected because they promote and embrace the West Hartford global community and connect to the town’s diverse cultures. One of the student references stated, "She is a true believer of diversity and multiculturalism as it has showed through her years of service and dedication." Come and celebrate these two students who represent our town's future.

It has been a remarkable three years with 20 videos produced involving businesses, and public and private schools. Hello! West Hartford received recognition this year in the Park Road Parade winning the “Best Community Spirit” award. They had over 100 people marching representing the widely diverse cultures in West Hartford. The founder, Bepsie Perry, also received the Noah Webster award for citizenship from the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

There has been a huge increase in cultural celebrations within our town with over half of our schools holding multi-cultural events now. "My students are learning so much about our citizens while they are researching the seven top language cultures in West Hartford." said Clare. Taylor, a teacher who is working on a global education initiative called The Global World Within Our Borders. “Our students are fortunate that travel isn’t required to see and experience world cultures.”
