West Hartford, CT – Mark Zydanowicz today announced his candidacy for Connecticut’s House of Representatives seat in the 19th district, representing West Hartford, Avon and Farmington. “I am running this race for my children and the future of Connecticut,” Zydanowicz explained. “Brian Becker has been a rubber-stamp for Governor Malloy’s business policies under which Connecticut has plummeted economically, sending businesses fleeing to other states and, with them, jobs, our children and the future of Connecticut. That’s not good enough for the 19th District and that’s not good enough for the people of Connecticut.”

Throughout his time as a member of the West Hartford Board of Education, Zydanowicz has been a voice of leadership and fiscal responsibility for West Hartford’s public schools, resulting in one of the best school districts in the state. A highlight of Zydanowicz’s tenure was delivering the commencement speech at Conard High School recently, where he challenged graduates to make Connecticut a better place by remembering where they came from, staying in touch with friends and improving their part of the world.

“It would be my honor to serve and lead the people of the 19th district as their state representative,” said Zydanowicz. “I will use my experience as a leader, businessman, father, and a longtime resident of West Hartford to focus on bringing jobs back to Connecticut, improving education, and restoring the Yankee spirit that once drove Connecticut’s economy. Together, we will create a Connecticut where our children can grow and thrive.”
