Terence McNulty, associate professor of English at Middlesex Community College, is the recipient of the Board of Regents Teaching Award. This award recognizes research, creative, and scholarly work by full time faculty members in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system. There is one Board of Regent Teaching Award per college.
"We are extremely proud that Professor McNulty will be honored as the first Board of Regents Teaching Award recipient at Middlesex Community College,” said Dr. Steven Minkler, dean of academic affairs. “Professor McNulty is one of the faculty 'stars' at MxCC. He is an excellent teacher and has student learning as the focus of everything he does at the college. He is deeply committed to ensuring that the community colleges maintain open access to students with all levels of preparation - from remedial students to honors students. His students are very lucky to have him as their teacher."
Professor McNulty of West Hartford, has been teaching at MxCC since 2008. He teaches a variety of English courses and coordinates the Transitional Year Program, a unique program that provides one-on-one support to first-year students. His poems have won the Esprit Prize and the Steve Grady Award, and he has served as a Rose Writing Fellow at Brown University.

“Terry has made a profound difference with his excellence in teaching, curricular innovation, and instructional improvements at MxCC,” said Dr. Donna Bontatibus, chair of the humanities division. “His work has enhanced the college and, most importantly, benefited the students."
