Registration Open for May 3 BlumShapiro 5K For Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship

BlumShapiro announced today that registration is open for the BlumShapiro 5K For Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship. The 2014 run and walk race, Kids Fun Run and other family activities will be held on Saturday, May 3, at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.

Interested parties can register online at www.travelerschampionship.com.  Registration fees vary. 

In its sixth year, the BlumShapiro 5K is an annual tradition that signals the kickoff to the Travelers Championship.  The event welcomes hundreds of runners and walkers of all ability levels along the roads that line the fairways, greens and practice facility at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.

“Once again, it is our privilege to host an event that brings families and people of all ages together to benefit the community,” said Carl Johnson, Managing Partner of BlumShapiro.

Proceeds from this year’s BlumShapiro 5K will benefit Hartford’s Camp Courant, the largest free day camp in the nation serving more than 1,100 Hartford children during the summer season.

The BlumShapiro Kids Fun Run begins at 8:00 a.m., and the 5K race and walk start at 8:30 a.m. on May 3. 

Prior to and after the Kids Fun Run, children will be treated to many activities, including face painting, games, clowns, jugglers, balloon artists and caricaturists.  Food, beverages and live music make it a festive morning for the entire family.

All activities will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at approximately 11:00 a.m.

All race participants will be given one ticket valid for any one day admission to the 2014 Travelers Championship, June 19-22, 2014.
