Solomon Schechter Announces New Head of School

Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford  announced the appointment of Andrea Kasper as the new head of school. Kasper comes to West Hartford from the Krieger Schechter in Baltimore, MD where she served as the Director of Teaching and Learning.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Kasper as Head of School effective July 1, 2014,” said Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford Board of Trustees President, Robert Kessler. “Her strong educational skills, innovative vision for Jewish day school education, passion for excellence in teaching will be instrumental in leading our school as we continue to grow, plan and implement a strategy that will secure the school’s future into the 21st century.”

A widely published author on critical and necessary innovation in Jewish day schools, Kasper nurtures a particular interest in the areas of project-based learning and emerging trends in integrated curriculum.  In 2011, Kasper won the international Jewish Futures Competition for her groundbreaking ideas in Jewish education.  She has developed a national reputation as a transformational thought leader in Jewish education - and in innovation in Jewish day school curriculum integration and pedagogy.
