Jamie “THE BEAR” McDonald Sets World Record in Frozen Yogurt 

Get ready for a brain freeze! On Sunday, July 28, 2013, at TCBY’s 2nd Annual Summer Fun Day, Jamie “THE BEAR” McDonald, Competitive Eater and Owner/Chef of Bear’s Smoke House in Windsor, CT, set a world record by consuming two gallons of TCBY frozen yogurt in 10 minutes, 43 seconds. Jamie can now add frozen yogurt to his growing list of records, which includes apple pie, pumpkin pie, pulled pork, hamburgers, onion rings, fried mushrooms, fried peach pie, just to name a few.

With a huge crowd gathered around and cheering him on, Jamie “The Bear” McDonald fought through the cold and consumed the entire bowl of frozen yogurt provided by the Simsbury TCBY.

“This was one of my toughest challenges, I am proud to say I have completed it,” said Jamie McDonald. “I am willing to do any food challenge in the name of charity, especially ones that involve kids.”

The event benefited two charities, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Kids Camp and the Teddy Bears for Tears program.

Jamie is also an independent competitive eater who has won over 50 eating competitions across the country. He was most recently named by All Pro Eating the “#1 Independent Competitive Eater 2012” and “Competitive Eating Rookie of the Year 2012”.
