The Emanuel Synagogue Welcomes the Entire Community for Upcoming High Holidays

The Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford welcomes family, friends, and unaffiliated guests to join us for the High Holidays. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is early this year September 4-6, 2013, with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, a week later  September 12-14, 2013. Simply call (860-236-1275) or visit the synagogue office at 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, by August 25, 2013 to reserve your tickets. Guests to The Emanuel can arrange for holiday seats for a donation of their choice. If guests choose to join, the synagogue will apply this donation towards membership.

This policy is part of Emanuel’s welcoming spirit. After our services every Shabbat, we share a Kiddush lunch with everyone. When our library has overstocks of books, we distribute them free to our congregants.  Most important, when visitors attend the synagogue, we do everything we can to make them feel welcome. As is our tradition, for the High Holidays, The Emanuel always welcomes children, students, and those currently in the Armed Services at no charge. 

The Synagogue offers services to accommodate diverse spiritual needs. From the majestic High Holiday services in the main sanctuary to the “Ohel” (the Hebrew word for “tent”) Service, to the four services for children and their parents in addition to a teen service, the Emanuel is committed to providing a meaningful spiritual home for the entire community, whom it invites to join them these High Holidays. 

As it celebrates its 95th year, the down-to-earth sacred community works hard at being a leading vibrant, purpose driven congregation that 21st century Jews of all ages find meaningful, welcoming and inspirational.  The Synagogue, one of the largest in the State, offers multiple high quality points of entry and engagement in a thriving community of relationships, meaning and sacred purpose.  Our members come from towns all over the Greater Hartford area.
