The True Story of Argo Spotlighted at the University of Saint Joseph

The Carol Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the World Affairs Council of Connecticut recently hosted a talk featuring Ken Taylor, former Canadian Ambassador to Iran, who managed the 1979 rescue mission of American Embassy workers in Iran as depicted in the 2012 Academy Award-winning film, Argo. A trusted civil servant, Taylor was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1981 by President Ronald Reagan. Pictured at the event which took place at USJ’s Bruyette Athenaeum are (left to right): President of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut Jay L. Bruns III; University of Saint Joseph President Pamela Trotman Reid, Ph.D.; and Ken Taylor.
