Archdiocese Names West Hartford Native as New Director

Mary Roberts is the new director of the Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents

The Archdiocese of Hartford has appointed a West Hartford native as the new director of the Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents.

The archdiocese named Mary Roberts, who attended St. Brigid’s Elementary School in Elmwood and Northwest Catholic High School, to the post, according to a press release on Monday.

Roberts “will educate the Catholic school community and parents about the rights of Catholic school students,” the press release states. “She will advocate for public services such as: busing, funding for textbooks and school nursing for Catholic school students, and work with lawmakers to ensure that students are protected to the fullest extent of the law.”

She earned a bachelor of science degree in human services from Northeastern University in Boston and a master of social work degree from Boston College.

The archdiocese also appointed James Fried the director of financial services and assistant director of finance on Monday.
