Blue Back Square to Host Fire Show and Giant Menorah Carved from Ice on Sunday

Chanukah celebration will take place at 4 p.m.

Blue Back Square is hosting “Fire on ICE” – a Chanukah celebration for the entire community - on Sunday at 4 p.m.. There will be a public menorah lighting and celebration in a heated tent in front of the Barnes and Noble at Blue Back Square in West Hartford Center,

According to a press release, the program will include:

  • a master ice carver will create the menorah from simple blocks of ice.

  • Music

  • A children’s choir

  • Chanukah delicacies

  • Hot drinks

  • Entertainment for the whole family

  • The traditional Menorah lighting of the giant icemenorah.

  • This year, in addition, there will be a fire show.

    Eric Zachs will be honored to light ice Menorah specially carved for the celebration.

    “Chabad hopes to bring the community together, to celebrate Chanukah and reach as many people as possible,” the press release states. “Chanukah is the holiday of light and freedom, where few overcame the many, light triumphed over darkness; freedom overcame oppression, and good prevailed over evil. This is the universal message of Chanukah.”

    There will also be a free raffle – all who attend are eligible to participate.

    The entire community is invited to join this celebration at no charge.
