Carnival Raises Money for West Hartford Food Pantry

Local family hosts Halloween Carnival, and gathers food and funds for needy families.

The Eddy kids wanted to do something fun for Halloween, but they wanted to be able to help out needy families at the same time.

"We had heard that items were super low at the pantry and figured Hurricane Sandy would present even more of a need," Rebecca Hajosy wrote in an email. Her kids, who both attend Duffy Elementary School, sent out this invitation:

"You can come for the night,
you can come for a flash...
But come to have fun
at our Halloween bash!

Ruth and Jack Eddy invite you to a HALLOWEEN OLD FASHION COSTUMED CARNIVAL on Wednesday, October 31st  3 to 5 pm.  Come for a while or the whole time, with or without parents.

Bring Thanksgiving Non-perishables to donate to West Hartford Food Pantry.  Each item gets you extra tickets for all the games and crafts."

More than 40 people attended the event at 22 Hooker Dr., and Hajosy said the Halloween Carnival was a great success.
