Connecticut Council for Interreligious Understanding Plans Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute

Event is planned for Jan. 12 at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

The Connecticut Council for Interreligious Understanding (CCIU) is hosting a multi-religious tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. entitled “Seeking Peace” in Hartford on Jan. 12.

The tribute, according to a press release, will “focus on the theme of peace through the universal language of music and the arts expressed by Connecticut’s diverse religious traditions.”

Deacon Art Miller will share stories of Dr. King and his quest for peace and justice.

In addition, selections from Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and Unitarian Universalist faiths will be included.

The Children’s Choir of the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Elementary Magnet school will perform.

The event will be held at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave., Hartford, from 3 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 12. Admission is Free.
