25th Annual Sharon Barshay Shabbat Service

The 25th annual Sharon Barshay special Friday night Shabbat service on June 8, 2012 at 7:30 PM at the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, CT will feature "A Musical Journey: From Germany to Israel" and will include Hazzan Sanford Cohn, The Emanuel Adult Choir, jazz musician Richie Barshay and Allan Conway, accompanist. An Oneg Shabbat (dessert) will follow the service.

The Sharon Barshay Shabbat Service was begun by Sharon
Barshay’'s family as a way of keeping her love of music
alive and to promote the importance of music in the
celebration of Jewish life.  haron Barshay derived great
pleasure from playing the piano and was a lover of beautiful music. It was felt that a living musical tribute to honor her memory would be most appropriate.  This special service has continued for these many years.
