A Moment of Remembrance - September 11

West Hartford will join the nation in a moment of remembrance on Sunday, September 11 at 1:00 PM as churches will ring their bells for one minute on the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

A ceremony will follow at the Veterans Memorial, located at the corner of Farmington Avenue and North Main Street in West Hartford Center.

The program includes the presentation of the American
flag by the West Hartford Fire Department Honor Guard and prayers from The Rev. Robert Hooper of St. James’ Episcopal Church and Rabbi Michael Pincus of Congregation Beth Israel. Mayor Scott Slifka will conclude the program by laying a memorial wreath and offering words of
remembrance.
