Ingrid Mattson to speak at Congregation Beth Israel

Dr. Ingrid Mattson, director of the Duncan Black Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary,  will speak on "Abraham and his Family in the Islamic Tradition" at the Congregation Beth Israel's Shabbat Service, starting at 7:30 p.m.

A question and answer session will follow. The public is invited.

Dr. Mattson teaches Early Islamic History, Islamic Law, Life and Times of the Prophet Muhammad, and Qur'anic Studies at the Macdonald Center. Begun in 1893, the Center is the country's oldest program for the study of Islam and Christian-Muslim relations.
