Guests Celebrate in Style at 14th Annual West Hartford Mayor's Ball

Scenes from West Hartford's signature event, held Saturday night, May 11, 2013 at Town Hall.

West Hartford Town Hall was the place to be Saturday night.

The rain ended just in time as more than 100 guests arrived in formal gowns and black tie for the 14th annual West Hartford Mayor's Charity Ball.

Attendees were treated to an Oscar night atmosphere, beginning with red carpet photos and a cocktail hour punctuated by the music of Conard High School's award-winning Be S#arp a capella ensemble and Hall High School's Jazz Combo while bidding on hundreds of silent auction offerings.

The event moved into the Grand Tent on the lawn of Town Hall, where guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner courtesy of Max Catering, a live auction presided over by auctioneer Steve Parker, and dancing until midnight to the music of Eight to the Bar.

Matthew Dicks, novelist and teacher at Wolcott Elementary School, served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

Funds raised from the Mayor's Charity Ball will benefit Playhouse on Park and HopeWorks.
