West Hartford's Newborn Lambs are a Sure Sign of Spring

Two lambs were born recently at Westmoor Park.

Despite Tuesday's wintry weather, spring will officially begin at 7:05 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

Just two weeks ago, another sure sign that spring is coming to West Hartford in spite of the cold and snow appeared in the form of two newborn lambs.

Westmoor Park has announced the birth of Tenley and Katie, born at the park the morning of Wednesday, March 6. "Daphne, the proud mother, belongs to 17-year-old Ross Beed. Ross, a 4-H Club member, won Daphne in an essay contest 5 years ago," a Westmoor Park representative in the announcement.

The lambs have already been a popular attraction at Westmoor Park, with visitors coming from throughout the area, New York, and even Washington state.

On warm days, guests will be able to view Tenley and Katie with mom Daphne. They should be out an about to great visitors on Farm Day, scheduled for May 18.

Westmoor Park is located at 119 Flagg Rd., West Hartford, and is open daily, Sunday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hi Barbara, We are so sorry this happened. Last night we added 200 sites to our great new BetaRead More platform and we think that made our newsletter server go haywire. Our engineers are hard at work to fix this bug and we are hopeful that things will be much smoother on Thursday.
