New Britain Ave. Bridge Work Begins Monday
Construction on the Amtrak/CTfastrak bridge will last for several weeks.
Work on the Amtrak/CTfastrak bridge that crosses New Britain Ave. on the eastern edge of Elmwood will commence on Monday, June 10, and will result in lane closures during the evening and overnight hours.
A bulletin from CTfastrak states that the work is scheduled to last several weeks, and will take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 p.m.
According to CTfastrak, there will be lane closures but one travel lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian and vehicle access to businesses and adjacent local roads in the area will also be maintained, according to the bulletin.
