Two Road Projects Set to Begin in West Hartford

Mountain Road reconstruction and Boulevard Sewer project restoration set to being at the end of August and early September.

The following information was provided by the town of West Hartford

Boulevard Sewer project restoration

Baltazar will begin permanent patch work on the Boulevard during the week of Aug. 26. This will be a 3-week activity that is slated to end Sept. 13. The Town of West Hartford will replace the crosswalks at the intersection of the Boulevard and South Main Street and the Boulevard and Raymond Road with brick.  The crosswalk work be done Sept. 16 - 27. Final milling and paving will begin Sept. 30.

Mountain Road Reconstruction Project

Construction is expected to begin on Mountain Road on Sept. 3, 2013 and will continue for approximately 6 weeks. Mountain Road will remain closed throughout the duration of the project between Boulevard and Sedgwick Road, with the exception of residents, school buses, and emergency vehicles. Buena Vista Road will remain open, but drivers should expect delays. A signed detour will be posted, directing traffic to use Ridgewood Road to avoid the construction. Work hours will generally be from 7AM – 3:30PM.
