West Hartford History: What Building is This?

Last week we asked you what building was in the photograph provided.

The Holy Family Monastery and Retreat House located on Tunxis Road is the largest Passionist ministry in the world and the largest Catholic retreat center in the United States, according to the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society. “Each year 19,000 people find comfort, healing, and rest in this oasis of God’s peace,” according to the Society.

The cruel march of time forces us to consider this week and, as they say, it’s OK to peek into the rearview mirror of the past, but it’s not all right to stare.
