West Hartford History: What Restaurant Was This Dining Room In?

Test your knowledge of West Hartford history with this photo from the archives of the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society.

Last week we showed a photo of the Saint Mary Home on Steele Road that serves more than 400 patients and clients. According to the Noah Webster House, “the facility was started by four Sisters of Mercy who traveled to Hartford in 1852. They first began to serve the less fortunate and frail by opening a school in the basement of St. Patrick's Church in Hartford. Soon, they purchased the Terry Farm located between Steele Road, Albany Avenue, Asylum Avenue. Several sisters worked the farm for income and sustenance. This site eventually became the cornerstone of Saint Mary Home.”

Congratulations to Lisa Petersen, Denise Reed and Maggie Whittel for their correct answers.
