Last week, we featured a photo of the main library building of the town library system. According to the Historical Society, “a subscription library was first started in 1837 and Noah Webster donated 78 books to that library. The first library was housed at the First Church but eventually a fundraising effort led to the construction of this building. This building was named to honor Noah Webster and was dedicated in 1917.”

Congratulations to Lisa Khan and Judi Killoran for their correct answers.

So smartypantsesesesses, what about this week?

What building is pictured above?

If you think you know the answer or have a special memory related to the photo, respond in the "Leave a comment" box below this article. We'll run the answer next Monday, along with a new historical photo.

Those are the triple brick apartment buildings on the corner of Farmington Avenue and North Quaker Lane. I have always admired their over-fired brick construction and the crenellated roof design. I recall there is a coat-of-arms embedded in the facade (Cypress Arms or similar?) and wonder what connection that might have to the builder's background.
