West Hartford History: Where Was This Photo Taken?

Test your knowledge of West Hartford history with this photo from the archives of the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society.

Last week, we featured a photo of  the grist mill located at Vine Hill. The mill was powered by Trout Brook. Charles M. Beach purchased this property in 1859 and developed a large dairy farm. The Beach family farmland was eventually given to the town and became Beachland Park.

Jeff Murray guessed that it was Trout Brook, north of Farmington Avenue.

What about this week's photo? Yes, it's a Ferris Wheel, but from where?

If you think you know the answer or have a special memory related to the photo, respond in the "Leave a comment" box below this article. We'll run the answer next Monday, along with a new historical photo.
