West Hartford History: Which Church is This?

Test your knowledge of West Hartford history with this photo from the archives of the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society.

Last week we showed a photo of one of a series of historic murals created by West Hartford artist Walter O.R. Korder. The 21 murals adorn the walls of the second-floor office of the West Hartford Town Hall. According to the Historical Society, Korder attended school in West Hartford and graduated from Hall High.

“He was one of scores of artists enlisted in the Works Progress Administration, a federal program that provided jobs to thousands of people from writers and painters to laborers during the Depression,” Sheila Daley wrote. “These murals were painted between 1937 and 1941, when the building was Hall High School.”

John Maloney and Rick Liftig got the correct answer. Well done.
