ArtWalk 2012

ArtWalk is back for the ninth consecutive year! This years Celebration of the Arts will be held on the Art Leagues grounds on Buena Vista Road and will be feature a Clothesline art exhibit outside under a tent, two exhibits in our galleries, art demonstrations, live music throughout the afternoon, a community art project, kids activities, and a dance performance by Ballet Theater Company. In addition, our Schoolhouse building at 87 Mountain Road will be open from 2-4 p.m. and will feature wheel throwing demonstrations.

We will also hold our third annual Light up the Night event on the Art League grounds that evening from 7-9 p.m. For a $5 donation, the public can decorate a white paper bag luminaria and place it on the Art League grounds in a temporary art "installation" that will be lit that evening at dusk.  All proceeds will be split between FoodShare and the Town of West Hartford Food pantry.

Food will be available during the afternoon for purchase from several food vendors, and we will dedicate the latest piece of public art in our collection by sculptor Philip Grausman at 2 p.m.
