Museum Exhibition Opening Reception

Join Saint Joseph College Art Gallery as they celebrate the opening of their new exhibition Founded in Friendship: The Legacy of the Reverend Andrew J. Kelly.  This exhibition, which celebrates the inaugural gift of art to Saint Joseph College, re-examines the founding gift and its influence on the growth and character of the collection.  It reveals how Reverend Andrew J. Kelly's personal relationships with artists and with fellow art collector Reverend John J. Kelley led to the formation of a distinguished and distinctive collection with particular strength in American art of the 20th century. This exhibition is free and open to the public and will run through June 10.

Also on view, A Short Season: Childhood Depicted  an exhibition in honor of the 75th anniversary of the School for Young Children, West Hartford, Connecticut.  This exhibition celebrates children in art with a selection drawn from the permanent collection including works by Winslow Homer, Jerome Myers, and John Sloan. This exhibition is free and open to the public.
