Notable Art Show and Reception

The community is invited to attend the 5th annual Hartford Art School’s MFA in Illustration art show and reception at the University of Hartford. This once a year event will be held at the Joseloff Gallery on the University’s campus and will feature 14 illustration thesis projects by the graduating class of 2011, including four local Connecticut residents — Leslie Cober-Gentry of Fairfield, Chava Light of New Haven, Jon Sideriadis of Rocky Hill and Jack Tom of Bridgeport. The event is free and open to the public.
The featured artwork will include traditional, mixed and digital media and offers art enthusiasts the opportunity to view a uniquely strong, collective body of work. Notes Hartford Art School’s 2011 Thesis Advisor, Doug Andersen, “What is distinct about this Low Residency MFA in Illustration program is the caliber and diversity of the student body. Hartford Art School’s MFA students are established illustrators working professionally in their field of expertise and many are art professors from around the country. This particular student dynamic lends itself to a noteworthy, one-of-a-kind show worth seeing.”
Those planning to attend should RSVP to tinkelman@hartford.edu or 914-737-5961. The show will also be open for viewing from July 11 to 22, 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, and 12 to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday.
