Saint Joseph College Celebrates Festival of Lights

 Saint Joseph College will host its annual Festival of Lights, an ecumenical celebration of the season of Advent. The Festival will begin at 4:00 p.m. in The Connor Chapel of Our Lady on the College’s West Hartford campus located at 1678 Asylum Avenue.

A combination of Scripture, music, liturgical dance and prayer, the Festival of Lights features: the Saint Joseph College Choir, Voices of Praise, and Instrumental Ensemble, under the direction of Michael-Thomas Gilman, M.M.; the Saint Joseph College Dance Ensemble, directed by Susan Murphy, M.A.; the Queenes Companye, directed by Mark Zelinsky, Ph.D.; and The Gengras Center Choir directed by Richard Alfonso.

During the Festival, the congregation will participate in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony, recognizing the community’s spiritual joy and hope for the upcoming holiday season. Immediately following the Festival of Lights, all are invited to “A Dickens of a Christmas Dinner” in the McGovern Café ($10 per person).
