Summer Masterclasses for the Developing Musician

This summer the Hartt Community Division is pleased to present Summer Masterclasses for the Developing Musician. These one-week intensive programs focus on the Middle and High School wind, brass, and percussion student, and are designed to challenge students, encouraging them to reach their potential in a positive and supportive environment. Our highly regarded and experienced faculty guide students through three-hours of small group instruction on solo and ensemble repertoire, technique, and instrument-specific skills. These masterclasses, unique to Connecticut, culminate in a concert for family and friends.

Masterclasses are available for the following instruments:

Middle School (Entering Grades 6-8)

Our Middle School masterclasses offer students entering grades 6 through 8, a one-week instrument specific program focusing on age appropriate repertoire, fundamentals, technique, and ensemble playing. Our faculty work closely with students to develop the whole musician through intensive repertoire coaching, as well as through a range of course topics, including instrument maintenance and the art of practice.
