West Hartford Symphony Orchestra Collaboration Concert with I Giovani Solisti

The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Richard Chiarappa, presents “Collaboration Concert with I Giovani Solisti” on Sunday March 27, 3:00 pm, at the Roberts Theater on the campus of Kingswood-Oxford School, 170 Kingswood Road, West Hartford.

 

I Giovani Solisti (“The Young Soloists”), directed by Stephen Clink, is a chamber string orchestra representing the apex of the West Hartford School District string program, drawing its members from Conard and Hall High Schools. Some members of this elite, award-winning group have gone on to major in music at prestigious conservatories. “We are thrilled and honored to have I Giovani Solisti perform with the WHSO,” says Richard Chiarappa. “Indeed, this concert fulfills a key element of our mission to be a resource for the young musicians of the West Hartford schools. And it bears repeating that none of these educational and cultural treasures would be possible without supporting the work of great teachers like Stephen Clink.”

Featured works on the program include Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins, Borodin’s Notturno, Bruch’s Romance for Viola, and the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with Kingswood-Oxford student Elizabeth Dietz as soloist.
