West Hartford Women's Chorale Open Rehearsals for New Singers

The West Hartford Women’s Chorale will be opening its ninth performing season on September 11, 2012 with an open rehearsal for returning members and new singers. Rehearsal is 7-9 p.m. at Bristow Middle School, Highland Avenue, West Hartford. There are two open rehearsals on Sept. 11 and Sept. 18, 7-9 p.m. at Bristow Middle School for interested new singers.

The Chorale is open to all women who enjoy singing choral music. It is a non-audition community women’s chorale although voice placement auditions are required. They perform at local charity events as well as winter and spring concerts. Their charitable work includes supporting an annual music scholarship for a graduating WHPS student who will be pursuing higher education. Membership is for an entire performance year and a minimal tuition fee is charged each semester.

The chorale is led by Dr. Ethan Nash, music director, and accompanied by Barbara Robbins. The group performs a variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, spirituals, and contemporary music.
