Public Invited to West Hartford Art League Exhibit Reception

"CT+6" represents 75 accepted works from more than 550 entries.

The annual juried exhibit put on by the will kick off on Sunday, April 22, with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the art league's Clubhouse and Saltbox galleries.

This year's "CT+6" was juried and curated by Susan Cross, the curator at MASS McCA in North Adams, MA. Cross viewed more than 550 entries and selected the 75 that will be exhibited through June 3.

At 3 p.m. on April 22, the Best of Show winner will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize as well as a solo exhibit at the art league in 2012-13. A total of more than $3,000 will be awarded in cash and prized during the reception, which is free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The West Hartford Art League, at 37 Buena Vista Road, is a "regional art organization founded in 1934 that offers monthly exhibits of local and regional work in its two galleries, four sessions of art instruction throughout the year and a public art program."
