West Hartford Art League Awards Prizes in Juried Exhibit

CT+6 exhibit will remain on display at the Clubhouse and Saltbox Galleries through June 3.

CT+6, the annual regional juried exhibit and will be on display in the Clubhouse and Saltbox Galleries.

This years exhibit was juried by Susan Cross, curator at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA who juried close to 600 entries down to 76 accepted works that are on display. This regional exhibit is a showcase of contemporary artists work in the region and will be on display in both galleries through June 3.

Over $3,000 in awards and prizes were awarded to 16 artists, including:

  • $1,000 Best of Show cash prize and one person show to Stafford artist Olof Aspelin.
  • Chip Rutan of Old Saybrook won the $750 second place prize
  • Bill Simpson of Granby took $500 third place honor.
  • Additional award winners included artists from West Hartford, Goshen, Simsbury, Sharon and Kent, CT as well as New York City and Boston.

Gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday from 1-4 p.m. or by appointment.
